The Lodge’s elevation makes its climate delightfully temperate (mild to warmish) all year. This means day time temperatures are great for trekking and night time temperatures are great for sleeping.

The driest months at Rancho Naturalista are December to April with another dry period lasting a couple of weeks between June and July. The temperature varies only slightly but more rain can be expected from May to November. However it is a myth that it rains constantly during these months, we usually experience rain showers in the mid to late afternoon or evening. The hummingbird feeders and balcony make excellent areas for bird watching during any rain showers allowing you to still see a large number of species. Many guests prefer to visit during the ‘wet’ season enjoying the lower rates and slightly cooler temperatures.
