These beautiful in- and outdoor gardens (27 acres), established in 1973 are home to over 1,100 orchid species (over 7000 plants). Large collections of bromeliads, cacti and succulents, palms, bamboos and heliconias also fill its grounds. The gift shop has an excellent selection of natural history books and souvenirs. Specialty birds include Orange-billed Nightingale-Thrush, Sedge Wren and Steely-vented Hummingbird.
