This rugged National Park stretches from the Central Highlands (highest point 9500ft or 2906m) to the Caribbean lowlands (500ft or 150m), therefore resulting in a protected corridor from low- to high-elevation rainforest.
Specialty birds include White-throated Shrike-Tanager, Black-crowned Antpitta, Lattice-tailed Trogon, Tawny-crested Tanager and Blue-&-Gold Tanager.
