Due to the location of Rancho Naturalista it is possible to add a variety of full day birding excursions to some different habitats to increase the birding experience. Guests staying for seven nights or more are entitled to one free trip to either Parque National Tapanti, Irazu or Braulio Carrillo, this excludes park entrance fees and guiding fees. Please note that all day tours are subject to the availability of transport and guides.

With such specialties as Bat Falcon, Ornate Hawk-Eagle, Ochraceous Pewee, Volcano Junco, Costa-Rican Pygmy-Owl, Fiery-throated Hummingbird, Black-crowned Antpitta, Resplendent Quetzal and Lattice-tailed Trogon it is not surprising these trips are popular!
