Known as the Silent Mountain, this area is set at an altitude of 4000 to 5000ft (1212 to 1515m) on the Caribbean slope in the Cordillera Talamanca above the village of Platanillo. This is a difficult hike and should only be undertaken at the discretion of your guide. Specialty birds include Lovely Cotinga, Resplendent Quetzal, Sharpbill, Zeledonia and other highland species
