Set at an altitude of 1918ft (528m) C.A.T.I.E is not only an excellent birding site but also an interesting botanical garden (45 hectares) which maintains 4400 genetic samples that represent more than 280 species from all over the world. You are able to taste smell and touch a variety of tropical fruits as well as coffee, palm hearts and everybody’s favorite chocolate! Specialty birds for the area include Boat-billed Heron, Mangrove Swallow and numerous water birds.
